She was the bee's knees in the early 1920's Paris, but the Roaring Twenties are coming to a close and in the new decade, there is only room and money for one great starlet in showbiz; and the fine folk of the music industry have decided, it isn't Pru. Her name is Mariette and she is 21, so young, so fresh, not dated and aged like the more than 20 year older Prudence. Still, Prudence has pleased the gods of music her whole life, applesauce, she is not ready to go down without a fight. She simply needs the right backing. When she meets the young Sylvie Dubois, wife to the heir of the Dubois Estates, she sees her chance at getting her own career financed. What she didn't see coming was her feelings for the younger woman, and how it teaches her a lesson about age and experience.
